News : Dams threaten to burst in China

Dangerously swollen 'quake lakes', caused by earthquake-triggered landslides, are being drained by emergency workers.

Pressure on dams formed by landslides in southwestern China's Sichuan province is easing, as emergency works dig channels to drain the dangerously-swollen 'quake lakes'.

At least three bodies have been found near overturned bulldozers, but it's unclear if they were onlookers or emergency workers. The lakes continue threatening surrounding villages.
