The new phones will cost as little as $199, about half of the original iPhones. They are set to be released on July 11th. Bobbi Rebell reports.The iPhone is getting faster --- and cheaper.Apple's Steve Jobs took the stage in San Francisco to unveil the company's next generation touch screen phone. The new iPhone will have speedier Internet access, running on advanced 3G wireless networks.The entry level with 8 gigabyte unit will sell for just $199-- about half the price of older models with the same memory. A lot of people who were going to buy an iPhone said that the reason why they didn't is because it was too expensive."One key new feature: support for corporate email and other smart phone functions. But they may find that after a couple of weeks that using the onscreen keyboard is not really as good as having the thumb keyboard like the blackberry and the Treo . You might see some people switching back."Apple says they have sold 6 million of the original iPhones so far, and analysts say the business could become as big as the company's Macintosh computer or iPod media player businesses.
