News : Don King to help earthquake victims

U.S. boxing promoter Don King is in China to organise a charity competition in earthquake-hit Sichuan province.

U.S. boxing promoter Don King was in China on Wednesday (August 13) planning a tournament which could help victims of the Sichuan province earthquake in May that left nearly 90,000 either dead or missing.

King said he planned to donate part of the proceeds of the event in the provincial capital, Chengdu, to help the homeless.

He said he wanted the event to provide a cultural exchange for everyone, not just the boxers.

The boxing tournament is due to be held at the Chengdu National Stadium in November.
