News : Air strike kills Taliban fighters

A NATO-led air strike in southern Afghanistan kills Taliban insurgents near Kandahar city.

The alliance along with Afghan forces launched a huge offensive on Wednesday(June 18) to drive Taliban insurgents from villages on the outskirts of Kandahar city.

Many of the fighters escaped from a jail in the southern city last week.
