News : The world’s deepest living fish
Scientists from Tokyo and Aberdeen Universities filming in one of the world's deepest Ocean trenches in the Pacific, have discovered a shoal of snailfish at a depth of 7.7km (4.8 miles).It is the fist time that any fish have been captured on film at this depth.
The descent to the bottom of the the Japan Trench in the Pacific can take the camera platforms, or 'landers', up to five hours, with the equipment being subjected to pressures of 8,000 tonnes per square metre.
