News : A whale of a time in the Baltic




For the first time in 30 years, a humpback whale is spotted off Germany's Baltic coast, captured on camera by a German holidaymaker.

Scientists had first seen the whale a few days earlier and described its presence in the Baltic Sea as a "scientific sensation".

Living humpback whales, known for their long and complex song and their acrobatics in and out of the water, usually spend the summer months in polar waters.
