News :Baby joy for Giant Panda - twice!




A 12-year-old panda, evacuated from the earthquake-stricken Wolong panda research centre in China's Sichuan province, gives birth to twins.

The cubs were born on Sunday (6 July, 2008) and were the first recorded panda births in 2008.

During the earthquake of 12 May 2008 a number of enclosures were destroyed at the Wolong centre. Nonetheless only one of the 63 pandas died in the earthquake with one is still missing.
